The application is designed to download the U.S. Coast Guard Light List on a weekly basis for your specific district, seamlessly integrating this information with details of the relevant aids within your selected area. Additionally, it provides pertinent Local Notice for Mariners information alongside the light data.

For users seeking a more comprehensive reference tool, an alternative option available in the App Store is Nearest Light, which may offer enhanced features.

The primary purpose of AV Assistant includes the capability to report any discrepancies in aids to navigation directly to the U.S. Coast Guard, making it particularly useful for personnel within the USCG and USCG Auxiliary. Users are encouraged to visit the application’s website (accessible through Settings|Reference) for further details and contextual information.

It is important to note that while AV Assistant provides access to Light List data, it is not intended as a substitute for nautical charts or Coast Pilots.
